Two new principals join Mankato Area Public Schools’
Mankato-Mankato Area Public School Board has approved Eric Hudspith and Stephen Rustad as new principals at Mankato Area Public Schools:
Eric Hudspith has been selected as the new principal of Washington Elementary School. Hudspith has served the Albert Lea school district for 10 years and held roles as a kindergarten and sixth grade teacher, director of facilities and transportation and as an elementary principal.
Hudspith has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, a master’s degree in educational technology from Minnesota State University, Mankato and an educational specialist degree from the University of St. Thomas.
Stephen Rustad has been named principal of East Junior High School. He has several years of experience in working with diverse student populations. He has taught for three years in Minneapolis Public Schools and for seven years at Robbinsdale Area Schools, where he served as an instructional and positive behavioral interventions and supports coach.
Rustad earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Minnesota and his sixth-year certification in educational administration from St. Cloud State University.
Both Hudspith and Rustad begin their duties July 1.
