Larry Mosenden, 64, of Hanska died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Mayo Health Systems in Mankato.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska with Pastor Sarah Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hanska with Full Military Honors being conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, HANSKA CHAPEL in Hanska and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.

Larry is survived by his wife, Cheryl Mosenden of Hanska; daughters, Jennifer Mosenden (David Nelson) of Hanska, Jayda Mosenden of Madelia; son and daughter-in-law, Javen and Lori Mosenden of Mankato; grandchildren, Andrew, Ty, and Taylor Homan, Jaxon Mosenden; great grandson, Greyson Schrom; brothers and sister-in-law, Rob and Cindy Mosenden of Hanska, Daryl Mosenden of Madelia, Dave Mosenden of New Ulm; mother-in-law, Muriel Frederickson of Hanska; sisters-in-law, Emy (Vern) Lawson of Edmond, OK, Tammy (Brian) Johnson of New Ulm; brothers-in-law, Noel Frederickson of Mankato, Ric (Jan) Frederickson of New Ulm; many nieces; nephews; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Lee Frederickson.

Larry Javen Mosenden was born on November 28, 1948 in New Ulm to George and Gervaise (Midtbruget) Mosenden. After graduating from high school he served in the U.S. Navy. On March 18, 1972 he was united in marriage to Cheryl Frederickson at the Nora Unitarian Church in Hanska. Larry was employed at 3M in New Ulm from 1971 – 2006. After retiring he worked a short time at the Hanska bowling alley in Hanska. He enjoyed woodworking with his father, brothers and son, deer hunting, golfing, bowling, spending time with his family and being retired. Larry was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska, the American Legion Post #365 in Hanska and was a retired member of the Hanska Fire Department.
