So tall, so dark, so handsome…

The Mankato Times is happy to introduce our latest contributor Paul Obeng-Amoako.  I met Paul while sitting in the front office at KMSU waiting to talk with Jim “Gully” Gullickson.  Paul caught my attention with his conversation skills and his positive outlook on life.  If you are fortunate enough to meet him, you will know what I am talking about.

Paul will be writing about entertainment and anything NOT related to sports – in his own words “I know little to nothing about sports.”

I look forward to working with Paul and sharing his insights and experiences with the community.

Please welcome Paul.

So tall, so dark, so handsome…

I am Paul Obeng-Amoako, a Minnesota State Mankato Mass Media student from Coon Rapids.

Before coming to MSU, I attended Anoka Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids, where I volunteered briefly as a writer for the ‘Rampage’ paper. Before that, I went to Pact Charter School (Young and fine of ’09!) in Ramsey where I discovered an interest for acting and being in front of a camera.

In addition to being involved with the schools radio program, I am also a sales professional for the company ‘Tallgrass Talent Group’ and also work as a mentor for one of the school’s housing programs.

I have done music videos, a few commercials, a pilot, a few feature length films and several short films.  I currently have a YouTube page which you can follow by clicking here

I’m going to graduate soon, so I want to leave as large of a positive mark in Mankato as much as possible.  I am also trying to get out of my comfort zone as much as possible; I’m seeking membership into different Recognized student organizations our school offers including, Fit Club, Spanish Club, Hmong Student Association and the Forensics Team.

I like listening to music, watch South Park and play video games. After graduation I hope to become a touring DJ, model for Rue21 and potentially be a voice actor.

If you want to know more about me, don’t be a stranger. You can usually find me in the library or Centennial Student Union (CSU).

If you have a topic which you would like me to cover, you can contact me at … just so it is not about sports.
