Maple River girl’s defeat Springfield 64-51 in St. James Holiday Tournament
ST JAMES, MINN. — The Maple River high school girls defeated Springfield high school 64-51 Tuesday in the St. James Holiday basketball tournament. With the win the Eagles improve to 2-4 while the Tigers fall to 5-4.
The Eagles move on to the championship game against Madelia on Wednesday, Dec. 28th with a 7:45 pm scheduled start.
The Eagles shot 54% from the field making 26-48 shots while the Tigers hit 16 of 71 shots for a 22% shooting percentage.
Sophomore guard Madi Schirmer had a big game for the Eagles putting up 24 points while dishing out 4 assists to lead the team. April Klecker pulled down 7 rebounds to lead the team. Vishe Rabb was the leading scorer for the Tigers with 18 points.
