Mankato Times

NEW ULM, MINN. — Come out to Flandrau State Park for a Historic Building Hike on February 18th (Saturday) at 10:00 a.m.  Join Scott Kudelka, Minneopa Area Naturalist to learn about park’s history and take a hike around the park to look at the historic buildings.

We will take a hike through Flandrau State Park to check out its historic past.  Flandrau was the site of both a Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration camps in the 1930’s during the Great Depression.  They were responsible for some of the beautiful and unique buildings found at Flandrau State Park including the Beach House and Caretaker’s Residence.  Meet at the Beach House in the day-use area of Flandrau.

Flandrau State Park is located at 1300 Summit Ave, New Ulm, MN 56073
