SAINT PETER, MINN. – More than 40 ceramic pieces, all created within the past two years by artists throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa, will be on display August 18 – September 17 when the Arts Center of Saint Peter hosts “Fresh Work,” the Minnesota Women Ceramic Artists’ 2017 Juried Exhibition.

A range of media, forms, and experience levels are represented in the collection of new work by more than 40 artists — including porcelain, earthenware, low- and high- and soda-fired clay, in forms ranging from functional pottery to abstract wall hangings to the eight-foot-wide “Moon over Superior by Liz James of Duluth. The majority of the work is for sale.

“I’m excited to see ceramic work from accomplished artists all over the Midwest,” said Clay Studio Manager Juana Arias. “I don’t think there’s a better gallery to showcase that work than our Arts Center, where a fair number of our own regional artists make their work. We’re a strong clay community.”

The public is welcome at the opening reception at the Arts Center on Saturday, August 19, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served and the Arts Center’s clay studio will be open for tours during that time.

The Arts Center of Saint Peter is located at 315 S Minnesota Ave, Saint Peter, Minnesota. The galleries are free, wheelchair-accessible and open to the public every Tuesday and Wednesday 1-6 p.m., Thursday 1-8 p.m., Friday 1-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. To learn more visit
