Deep Valley Young Writer Competition

MANKATO, MINN. —- Children between the ages of 7 and 18 are encouraged to enter the Deep Valley Young Writer Competition for 2017. This year’s theme is Friendship and awards will be given to the winner of each of the five age categories. Deadline for entries is September 1, 2017.

To enter, fill out the Deep Valley Young Writer Competition Entry form and submit with your original story (1500 words or less) which incorporates the theme Friendship. The winner of each category will be presented with an award and invited to read their stories at the Deep Valley Book Festival on October 7, 2017.

Age categories are

  • Ages 7 – 8
  • Ages 9 – 10
  • Ages 11 – 12
  • Ages 13 – 14
  • Ages 15 – 18
