Mankato Curling Club Hosts World Curling Olympic Celebration Tour
MANKATO, MINN. — The Mankato Curling Club will host a three-day World Curling Olympic Celebration Tour November 17 – 19
The event will feature 2006 Olympic Bronze Medalist Shannon Kleibrink from Alberta, Canada. Kleibrink skipped the Canadian team at the winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Her career includes two Grand Slam of Curling gold medals, silver medal in the Scotties Tournament of Heats, and two silver medals in the Canadian Olympic Curling trials.
The event kicks off at 8:00 a.m. Friday, November 17 with a school program at Monroe Elementary and then a 12:30 p.m. program at Prairie Winds Elementary.
Saturday’s events will take place at the Mankato Curling Club beginning with a junior program from 10:00 a.m. to noon. A learn to curl/open house event will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and a member social and Olympic Trial Viewing Party from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Sunday concludes with a learn-curl/open house from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
All events are open to the public and members of the Mankato Curling Club. Learn to curl and open houses will be aimed at benefiting curlers of all levels. Please register for the events by clicking here.
