Region Nine Adds Two New Commissioners
MANKATO, MINN. — Region Nine Development Commission has appointed Doug Trytten and Laurel Remund to serve on the commission alongside 37 others. Commissioner Trytten will represent Cities under 10,000 for Faribault County and Commissioner Remund will represent Townships for Waseca County.
Commissioner Doug Trytten was born and raised in Kiester, MN. Trytten served on the Kiester city council from 1986-1994. Since 2014, he has served as the Mayor of Kiester. Trytten is the office manager at Rembrant Foods, Inc. and the digital cinema manager at the Kee Theatre. He serves on numerous boards and committees to support his community. Trytten is married and has three children and three grandchildren.
Commissioner Laurel Remund joined the Blooming Grove Township Board in March of 2017. A retired graphic artist, she farms with husband Keith, their kids and grandkids. Remund believes in grassroots government and would like to see more local representation on county boards. She is a member of B.E.S.T. of Waseca and audits the county commissioners, planning and zoning, board of adjustment and HWY subcommittee meetings to keep her township involved and recognized in a positive way in Waseca County.
“We look forward to working with Commissioners Trytten and Remund,” shared Nicole Griensewic Mickelson, executive director for Region Nine. “Their insights will provide great value to our commission.”
