NORTH MANKATO, MINN. — Despite the blizzard conditions that enveloped the area this weekend, Senate District 19 Democrats came together at South Central College to complete the business of the 2018 DFL Endorsing Convention. After a question & answer period with the candidates, Jeff Brand was endorsed as candidate for District 19A and Jack Considine was endorsed for District 19B. Both candidates received unanimous votes.

Jeff Brand is now seeking the vote in the general election on Tuesday, November 6th to replace retiring Representative Clark Johnson. Brand, a two-term City Councilmember in Saint Peter, has a history of connecting with constituents through grassroots efforts. He believes that he can make a difference in the district and has already earned the endorsement of two unions; Minnesota Associate of Professional Employees (MAPE) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

The eight major issues that Brand will focus on in his campaign, and in the Legislature if elected include Education, Transportation, Agriculture, Childcare, Healthcare, the Environment, Worker benefits and Renewable Energy. He will be hosting round table discussions regarding these issues throughout the months leading up to the election.

Jeff Brand said this during his endorsement speech “we have the integrity and the conviction to win this election. Our campaign will raise the necessary money to win on November 6th. I provide a clear choice in this race as someone that can move past politics and the rancor that divides us. Join us as we talk about solutions for a cleaner, brighter future for all Minnesotans.”
