Band Lineups for Songs on the Lawn and Alive After 5
MANKATO, MINN. — Greater Mankato Growth released the band lineup for the 2018 music series “Songs on the Lawn” and “Alive after 5” which are held at Civic Center Plaza.
This will be the 15th year for Songs on the Lawn – the popular summer commencement featuring music, entertainment and local food. Songs on the Lawn is presented by Xcel Energy and takes place each Thursday in June from 11 am – 1 pm at Civic Center Plaza, starting June 7, 2018. Parking is available around the city center free of charge.
Songs on the Lawn is a community event for co-workers, families and friends to gather and enjoy sun, entertainment, activities and food. Attendees may purchase lunch and snacks sold by a variety of local vendors including Culver’s Frozen Custard, Dino’s Gourmet Pizzeria, Hy-Vee, New Perspective Senior Living, Olives, Pub 500, The Loose Moose Saloon & Conference Center, Number 4 American Bar & Kitchen, and Tavern of the Avenue.
Attendees are invited to visit local companies such as Cambria, Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota, Ecumen Pathstone Living, Lloyd Management Inc., Mankato Family YMCA, McGowan Water Conditioning, Monarch Healthcare Management, and Vista Prairie at Monarch Meadows whom will be occupying a booth space at the event.

Alive After 5 is presented by August Schell Brewing and is a free music event on Thursday nights in August from 5:00 – 7:30 pm at the Civic Center Plaza.
An array of food and beverages will be available for purchase from Pub 500, Friesen’s Family Bakery and Bistro, Dino’s Gourmet Pizzeria and Hy-Vee. Presenting sponsor, August Schell Brewing, will also be offering beer samplings each night of the event.
The Artisan & Craft Pop-up market, coordinated by Salvage Sisters Mercantile, will offer a variety of locally-made jewelry, home goods, art and accessories.
